The Kum & Go Has Kum & Went

Just as likely, utilizing the wit of a 5th grade boy, you’ve seen the sign, and made some variation of the same joke.

“I just got a salty snack at the Kum & Go.”
“Filler her up. I’ll bet you did.”
What’s a John’s favorite convenience store? Well, you get the idea.
After nearly 50 years of gas, snacks, and sexual innuendo, the Kum & Go will have come and went. Founded in 1959 by Bill Krause and T.S. Gentile as Hampton Oil. It took up the Kum & Go monicker in 1975. The chain, presently, boasts more than 400 locations in 13 states.
In 2023, convenience store chain, Maverik, with it’s 800+ stores, finalized its purchase of Kum & Go. Earlier this year they announced a rebranding of all of its’ newly acquired locations.
