Yes, I assume the word “Cyclospora” has been around for a very long time. Upon further research, I’ve discovered it is a combination of two Greek words: Cyclo, meaning circle, and Spora, meaning seed or spore.

I have read that nearly 7,000 people across 39 states have possibly been infected by the microscopic parasite that causes explosive diarrhea.
