Sure, there are a ton of Mother’s Day songs. Tupac’s “Dear Mama” or Boyz II Men’s “A Song for Mama.” There are some Father’s Day-inspired tracks like Will Smith’s “Just the Two of Us,” or maybe “Daughters” by John Mayer. Ya know what there aren’t any songs about? Stepdads. Right?
For Father’s Day 2018, my Song of the Week pays tribute the “you’re not my real dad” set with “Alan (The Stepdad Song).” I can say it. I’m a real life stepdad and my stepdaughter despises me too. 🙂
