For the first time in 37 years there will be no Super Bowl for Budweiser. The Anheuser-Busch brand has decided to forego broadcasting a commercial during the big game, Sunday, February 7th
The beer giant has decided to reallocate its typical Super Bowl advertising budget to bring awareness to the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Budweiser vice president of marketing, Monica Rustgi, “Like everyone else, we are eager to get people back together, reopen restaurants and bars, and be able to gather to cheers with friends and family.”
According to USA Today, the reported “multi-million dollar” commitment has Budweiser donating some of its advertising dollars to the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative, a coalition of experts in health, education and the economy.
Smart, right? Budweiser needs to get you vaccinated and back into the bar so you can buy more beer. I feel you, Bud. Here is the real story, a commercial you will NOT see during Super Bowl. There will be no Super Bowl for Budweiser.
