Yes, it’s the day Nevada became part of the Union as the 36th state in the Union. Secondly, it’s Nev-AD-a not Nev-AH-da. Yes, we know that Nevada is a Spanish word and that, in Spanish, we are pronouncing it wrong. But that doesn’t matter. It’s our state and Nev-Ad-a is how we say it.
The Silver State. with nearly three million souls across spread across 110,000 square miles. Now, 2.2 million of those are in Southern Nevada, in Clark County and areas in and around Las Vegas. So, when it comes to what Nevada is or isn’t…it’s Las Vegas.
Reno can complain all it wants. But, they don’t matter except for the fact that the “Biggest Little City In America” can take partial credit for inspiring this parody of Camila Cabello’s “Havana.”
